Security of housing is a basic requirement. Most would agree that moving house often or being reduced to a state of homelessness is not desirable. There is however less agreement about the best way to fill this basic need of security of housing.

Effects of credit and population shocks on housing prices

The effects of population and credit shocks on housing prices are much more long term than has been previously realised, say Arthur Grimes and Sean Hyland of Motu Economic and Public Policy Research.   Both kinds of shocks cause long term oscillations within the housing market because of the length of time it takes to build enough houses to cope with the changes.

Resources from the March 29 Communications Meeting in Wellington

A subcommittee of the NZPIF Executive is investigating how best to provide  educational opportunities for members. Andrew King, Executive Officer talks about this and about the number of business relationships NZPIF now has which will benefit all those who have NZPIF cards.

On March 29, representatives from most of the Property Investors' Associations around New Zealand met in Wellington.  A variety of topics were covered and there was excellent input from the floor.  Resources and power point presentations from the day have been distributed to participants but here is a list of items which can be sent to you.
