New minimum standards for rental properties confirmed The Minister of Housing, Nick Smith, has announced the final look for regulations introducing minimum standards for rental properties. Specific new requirements for insulation and smoke alarms If passed into law, requirements for the new Residential Tenancies Amendment Act will start as early as July this year. All residential tenancies must have smoke alarms and all tenancy agreements must include a statement on the insulation in the property. This link gives you more details. |
