Online shopping from Bunnings made easier

New functionality of this Bunnings website - www.bunningspowerpass.co.nz - will enable both full NZPIF members and Associate members to purchase items on line whether they have a PowerPass card or not. Go to this website and click on register (halfway down the right hand side.  Please enter the account number rather than a card number on the top line - 22281 for full NZPIF members and 156149 for Associate members.  Then complete the box with your details and submit.  Your request will then be approved by email.  If you have any problems following these steps, please contact Jan Hains at jan.hains@nzpif.org.nz.

FAULTY HEAT LAMPS BEHIND RECENT FIRES

WorkSafe has put out a safety alert after a design fault with several brands of combination heat/light/fan units has been identified as a fire hazard.  A number of recent fires have involved older combination bathroom heat/light/fan units (manufactured before 2008) and advises users with these units to visually check for signs of damage. Landlords are encouraged to read this article and check their rentals for this combination of heat/light/fan units.
