As Managing Director of McKee Fehl Constructors Ltd, Maurice takes a direct overview of all projects. He has an Honours Degree in Civil Engineering from Imperial College, London, UK and has worked in Toronto, Melbourne and Singapore in construction project management, before settling in Wellington 40 years ago. As a well respected and experienced engineer, Maurice is directly involved with all planning and methodologies across all of McKee Fehl’s construction and development projects. Maurice leads a collaborative team approach to the design and construction process and is well respected by all of his staff and the industry. With his experience working around the world, Maurice is able to draw on a wide range of experience and knowledge to lead the company in producing high-quality successful builds.

 

50 Customhouse Quay Wellington Seismic Strengthing Heritage Upgrade Building Construction Restoration

With his strong history in construction engineering solutions and a skill in re-purposing existing building structure, he has enabled a large number of Wellington’s structurally vulnerable building stock to be retained and given a new lease on life. Following on from successes with the Old Government Buildings and the Hunter Building, Maurice has led a number of successful heritage and seismic upgrades around Wellington including, 50-64 Customhouse Quay, Wellington Museum and 15 Stout St, home to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment. In addition Maurice has converted numerous empty office buildings, which were surplus to the Wellington commercial market, to student hostels for Victoria University.

Public Trust Wellington Seismic Strengthing Heritage Upgrade Building Construction Restoration Award Winner

With the completion of seismic strengthening and repurposing work of the Heritage category 1 Public Trust Building, Maurice Clark, was awarded the “Ath Cup” by the Wellington branch of the New Zealand Institute of Architects in memory of Ian Athfield. This award recognises a non-architect for outstanding achievement across all fields of architecture, building and design. Maurice has been recognised as giving a significant commitment and contribution to the Architectural landscape of Wellington.
