The executive recommend the following change to the constitution to you. The effect of this is to remove the need to have the financial Statements of the Association audited. Instead there will be a less formal review of the financial statements. That review will report its findings to the members of the Association.

Motion

That the Assocaition update the Constitution by replacing Clause 7.5 of the current constitution with the folllowing text:

The Association will appoint a person to review the annual financial statements of the association (“the Reviewer”). The reviewer must be a suitably qualified person, preferably a member of a recognised accounting body in New Zealand, and must not be a member of the executive, or an employee of the Association.
If the person so appointed is unable or unwilling to act for some reason, the executive shall appoint another Reviewer as a replacement.
