Competitive Advantage - Landlording Through A Tough Market

Mar 11, 2023 - 9.30-12.00

Level 1, 2 Jarden Mile, Ngauranga Gorge, Wellington

Jackie will share what she’s learned through boom and bust cycles in property as both a landlord and property manager.  She will talk about the risks we face today and in the near future, and, more importantly, how you too can emerge from this with your portfolio, relationships, and sanity intact, positioning yourself to get the best from changing market conditions.  This will be a wide-ranging discussion from values, attitudes and goals through to the really practical aspects of what you can do today to make a positive contribution to your future.  This event will be beneficial to both self-managing landlords and hands-off investors, and you will have reason to both think and laugh.

Jackie Thomas-Teague

Jackie Thomas-Teague has been a landlord since 1999 and has developed a larger than average portfolio in Wellington, Porirua, Hutt Valley, and Horowhenua areas.

She’s a life member and former President of the Wellington Property Investors’ Association.

She’s worked in property management since 2005, ran Rental Results Property Management from 2008 – 2018, and is now owner of boutique property management company, Bloom Property Management.

Jackie is passionate about property, business success, and environmental issues and works to make sure these things are compatible.  She has taught landlords and property managers how to be better at what they do, and continues to provide this education through Tawa Com Ed and consultancy.  Jackie also runs a successful BnB business, EcoFarmstay.NZ, holds a PDC, and loves time with her family above all else.
